Venessa Carpenter

About

If Charlie Russell had, had a daughter I think she might have been as loved, spirited and always up for an adventure like Miss Venessa Carpenter.  Miss Venessa was born in the Gem State and raised in the Lone Star.  Twelve years of living in East Texas and learning to play the guitar from Mr. John Defoore laid the foundation and gave Miss Venessa the heart and soul for the adventures that have found her. Since getting back to her roots in the Rockies, she's been inspired to write and sing of her family's cowboy history and heritage, that has been passed down to her from generation to generation.  Miss Venessa loves writing songs about her Great Grandpa Joe Beard whose oxen were in John Wayne’s first movie The Big Trail, James A Michener’s Centennial and in the tv series The Monroe’s. Miss Venessa’s song Letters to Lila is of the time her Great Grandpa Joe got caught selling moonshine and spent a year in jail, writing letters back and forth every day to his wife Lila.  Which her family still has those letters. So, whether it's just spending the day with her family branding calves and sitting around a campfire telling stories and playing her guitar, Miss Venessa will take you on an adventure and captivate you through her western story telling from living life on the ranch, finding treasures and a love that spans the test of time.
